The interior space of the Frederick church (or Marblekirken) is quite strict, the main impression is, of course, its huge volume. Thanks to the Windows in two tiers, the room does not require artificial lighting during the day.

Attention is immediately drawn to the largest dome in Scandinavia, which has a diameter of 31 meters. On it, we see 12 paintings, each of which depicts an Apostle and an angel above him. Christen Nielsen Overgaard, Henrik Olrik and Anton Dorph worked on the design of the dome.

The altar is decorated with marble of different colors and covered with stucco decorations. The author of the project Ferdinand Meldahl, the sculptural design was performed by Hans Christian Petersen. The cross with a height of about three meters of the work of Harold Garde. The design of the altar suggests the style of the churches of Rome and Venice.

The space in front of the altar is surrounded by a marble balustrade with high gilded candelabra.

To the right of the altar is the baptismal font, made by Joakim Skovgaard from gray-white Swiss marble.

The organ was installed in 1894 according to drawings by Ferdinand Meldal. The sound part was made by master Knud Olsen. The old organ had 21 votes.

By the middle of the 20th century, the old organ fell into disrepair and in 1963 a new organ was installed in the Church, made by the famous company Marcussen & Søn. The organ has 51 voices, and 11 pipes of the old organ are used.

At the main entrance, you can see a carved oak bas-relief made in the early 16th century. It depicts a story from the Passion of Christ, the removal of the body of Jesus from the cross.

The interiors of the Marble Church are open to the public daily from 10 to 17 hours, on Friday and Sunday from 12 to 17 hours. On Sundays and public holidays, services are held in the Church at 10:30. Entrance to the Church is free. You can climb to the top of the dome in summer every day from 13.00 to 15.00, in winter on weekends. A ticket for adults costs 35 DKK, for children 20 DKK.
